Been meaning to write this for a while.... I contacted Ben after learning he was running his own solar business. Ben has been in the industry for many years working for one of the largest solar firms. I believe in shopping small businesses as they seem not to treat you like just a number. I am a hard man to please when it comes to major projects. I had already done quite a bit of homework before contacting Ben. We went over everything in great detail. When it comes to panel selection, there are tons of options available these days, some installers limit your choices.
Once we determined the amount of viable space we had to work with, Ben helped me figure how we can maximize electricity production while minimizing system cost. I have an electric car pool pumps and central a/c. All this in a modest sized house w/ pool solar and tubular skylights also on the roof presented a challenging configuration. Additionally my house was built over 45 years ago and the electrical panel was already maxed out and the brand of panel we had was known for being a bit of a fire hazard. With the installation of the solar system 21 panels,we completely replaced the old power panel. The whole job was knocked out in less than 3 days and we are producing more than we consume. Our system is grid tied and we own it. We will receive a 30% tax credit and additionally write off the interest on our loan.
Ben was very helpful throughout the whole process from planning to execution. Thanks again! Now the electric utility and the gas station can suck it.
